It was Allan’s travels to Latin America in 2015 and subsequent foodborne illness issues that instigated the genesis of Cocina Verify™. After seven trips to Latin America and contracting foodborne illness on five of the trips, he realized there had to be a better way for tourists to know which restaurants were concerned about food safety and which restaurants tourists should avoid. It’s Allan’s goal to provide a vast network of restaurants throughout Latin America, Southeast Asia, and Africa that voluntarily choose to meet U.S. Food Safety Standards so international tourists and business travelers can explore the world while greatly reducing their risk to foodborne illness.
